Who we are

Yuma and Welcome!

We’re Veronika and Kristina. Real-life sisters, passionate educators, and the founders of Playful Pause. Between us, we have over 25 years of classroom teaching experience, working with children from kindergarten to year 10.

Over the years, we’ve seen firsthand how the world is changing for young people. Anxiety, stress, perfectionism, and emotional overwhelm are becoming all too common, and many kids are struggling to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and ease. But true wellbeing isn’t found in doing more; it’s in learning to pause, to breathe, and to reconnect with ourselves. That’s where we come in!

At Playful Pause, we use the power of breath, movement, relaxation and mindfulness to help children tune into their inner strength, resilience and joy. Our playful, engaging sessions create a space where kids can slow down, feel safe, and develop the tools they need to manage life’s ups and downs. Whether it’s through a deep belly breath, a moment of stillness, or a fun and energising yoga flow, we help kids discover that everything they need to thrive is already inside them.

We also believe that the wellbeing of teachers is just as important. A happy, balanced teacher creates a happy, balanced classroom. That’s why we’re strong advocates for teacher wellbeing, because when educators are supported, students flourish.

We’re so excited to share this journey with you. Let’s move, breathe, and grow together! 😊

Our Values

At the very heart of Playful Pause, our core values are deeply grounded within the pillars of Connection, Community and Country.

Children need, seek and thrive on connection everyday. Sometimes it may seem like they are seeking attention, when it’s usually ‘connection’ that they truly desire. Supporting children to feel connected with themselves, connected with others around them and connected to the earth beneath their feet can bring a deep sense of belonging and comfort.

Mindful opportunities for children to connect with their own thoughts, feelings and needs can build confidence, self-esteem and emotional regulation. By connecting with others within a community setting, children can feel seen, heard and valued within a safe and supportive space.

Encouraging children to experience connection to country fosters a sense of love and care for our land and for each other. Through playful exploration of moving, breathing and pausing mindfully, we can inspire children to make a difference in the world through their relationships with themselves, with others and with the land.
